January 12, 2018 — Health Canada has issued a recall for certain Flos Romeo Moon model S2 and Romeo Louis II model S2 pendant lamps.

The lamps have an internal glass diffuser covered by a flared glass or crystal shade that suspends from the ceiling by steel wires.

The glass diffuser can detach and fall, posing an impact injury hazard. As of December 22, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

The model number is printed on a label on the lamp shade. Consumers can tell if their lamp is part of the recall by examining the underside of the ring holding the glass diffuser. If this piece is plastic only, it is part of the recall.

An unknown number of unites of the affected products were sold in Canada at speciality lighting stores. The products were sold from January 1996 through December 2006.

The units were manufactured in Italy and distributed by Flos Inc.

Health Canada says consumers should immediately remove the glass diffuser from the recalled light fixtures until they are repaired and contact Flos Inc. for a free repair kit that can be installed by consumers.
